CHAMOMILE (Matricaria chamomilla)

Chamomile tea has been used for hundreds if not thousands of years to promote calm and a good night's sleep.  It is very useful in this capacity for horses and in addition is very useful for minor digestive problems including indigestion, acidity, gastritus, wind, bloating and colic.  It has also been used successfully for hiatus hernia, peptic ulcer, Crohn's disease and irritable bowel syndrome.

Key constituents: volatile oil (proazulenes farnesine, alpha-bisabolol spiroether), flavanoids (anthemidin, luteolin, ritin) Bitter glyclsides (anthemic acid), Cumarins, Tannins

Feeding: 30 to 40 grams for a 500kg (16.2hh) daily best divided between 2 feeds about 12 hours apart.
