MARIGOLD - Calendula officinalis 

Key Constituents Triterpenes, resins, bitter glycosides, volatile oil, phytosterols, flavonoids, muxcilage and  carotenes. Usage  Internally, very helpful for skin conditions and to optimize digestion.  It is also a good detox for the system optimizing the eliminatation of toxins from the body.  Having a mild benefical effect on the oestrus cycle it can help some mares in season. Externally in a lotion or cream it is very useful to cleanse minor wounds, to ease insect bites and itchiness, rashes and bruises. Feeding  30 to 40 grams added daily to the feeds of an average 500kg 16.2hh horse (adjust rate up or down for larger or smaller animals)  Best divided between 2 feeds about 12 hours apart if possible.  1kg will last an average 500kg  horse about 25 to 30+ days

CLIVERS 50% & MARIGOLD 50% MIX

35 to 45 grams added to the feeds daily of an average 500kg 16.2hh horse (adjust rate up or down as above)  Best dividided between  2 feeds about 12 hours apart if possible.  All new items should be added gradually to feed  over 2 or 3 days building up to the optimum amount to ensure acceptance of new taste and as a guard against any possible reaction.  1kg of mix will last an average3 500kg horse about 22 to 28 days 

A MIX FOR GENERAL SKIN CONDITION OF BURDOCK, CLEAVERS, MARIGOLD AND NETTLE  Mix 1kg of each herb together and feed at the rate of 30 or 40g for a 500kg horse daily, best in 2 halves. 1kg of mix will last an average 500kg horse about 25 to 30+ days.
