The
3M Equisport™ Equine Support Bandage is an elastic bandaging tape, more elastic than a traditional cohesive bandage, which complements 3M Vetrap™ Self-Adherent Bandaging Tape, and is used for equine preventative or therapeutic treatment.
It has been developed as an equine athletic support bandage for limb soft tissue and bone injuries that need more support than that provided by a regular elastic bandage. Equine Support Bandage contains approximately 4½ times the elastic material of 3M Vetrap™ Self-Adherent Bandaging Tape. This allows for increased durability as well as a capacity to provide higher compression and support when application technique is appropriate.
Features and benefits:
- Cohesive: it adheres only to itself. It does not stick neither to hair nor skin.
- Easy-to-use: the application is quick and convenient. It may be re-wrapped if needed during application. The removal is easy, quick and painless.
- High elasticity: contains approximately 4½ times the elastic material of 3M Vetrap™ Self-Adherent Bandaging Tape. This allows for increased durability as well as a capacity to provide higher compression and support.
- Porous: it allows skin to breath and avoids maceration.
Indications:
- Rundown bandage: provides extra protection and/or support from severe rundown on horses, horses prone to injury, or horses returning from an injury.
- Helps to reduce hyperextension of the fetlock joint and protect against fatigue.
- Figure-eight support bandage or figure-eight splint bandage (for a higher degree of support).
- Full limb or distal limb padded bandage. Post-surgical bandage.
