Devils Claw for horses is often used as a safe and natural painkiller and is recognised to have sedative and diuretic properties. It has been shown to be particularly effective in reducing inflammation in equine joints. It also acts as a digestive stimulant and has anti-spasmodic benefits.

Devil's Claw Root - sometimes called Wood Spider or Grapple Plant - is native to Africa where it has been used for thousands of years to treat conditions including back pain, joint pain and arthritis in people. It was introduced to Europe from Africa in the early 1900s.

It gets its name from the plant's fruit which looks like claws that are about the size of human hands with bent 'fingers'.



Adding Devils Claw for horses as a supplement to an older horse's diet can help to ease the general stiffness which is a common part of the ageing process. It also has sedative and diuretic properties on horses as well as being an effective painkiller.
