Verm-X®

Verm-X® for Horses is also available in liquid and powder formulations. All forms are equally effective, offering three different application options depending on your parasite control programme. Verm-X® powder is fed every 12 weeks as a 5-day course whilst the pellets, also designed for a 5-day course, can be fed from the hand as a treat. Verm-X® liquid is fed for three days each month.

Feed half the amount to horses and ponies between 6-18 months and feed the full adult amount at 18 months old.

We recommend that all horses and ponies have regular parasite checks to avoid unnecessary control programmes. When using Verm-X®, parasite tests should be performed 21 days after the last day Verm-X® is fed.

The herbs included in Verm-X have been carefully blended together to work synergistically with each other. Independent trials have proven that the herbal blend works (i.e. repels parasites). There have also been several reports from horse owners that their horses looked ‘extremely well’ following feeding on Verm-X.

Pasture Management

It is crucial that all grazed paddocks, particularly used for horses, undergo vigilant pasture management.  The life-cycle of internal parasites involves eggs being passed out with the droppings. The eggs hatch and the larvae are then eaten on the grass by the grazers. Picking up droppings will help but it is not the full answer. Paddocks should ALWAYS have periods of rest for several weeks at different times of the year. Infested pastures, that may not be apparent, will prevent any parasite control management programme from being effective over a period of time. Parasite control methods under these conditions may show a reduction of infestation in the horse immediately after use but after a short period the parasite burden may soon be increased when grazing infested pastures.

NOTE: Complicating factors may modify the efficacy of any parasite control regime. We recommended that all animals have regular (e.g. twice yearly) faecal worm egg counts to avoid unnecessary control programmes. Feed two 25g scoops per day for 5 consecutive days. Repeat every 12 weeks. The pellets can be added to your horse’s feed or fed directly from your hand as a treat. Ponies 11.2hh or smaller can be fed half the amount.
