It’s a hive of activity down in Badminton as exhibitors, judges and organisers get ready for the opening of the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials 2011.
The event opens on Thursday (April 21) and closes on Easter Monday (April 25) and it is hoped that the good weather will continue to make it a great Easter outing for thousands of vistiors.
A new and popular innovation this year has been the launch of an iphone app which will allow fans to see live results as well as timetables, rider profiles, audio and video content, shopping village information and that all-important weather forecast. You can download the app from itunes.
Meanwhile, dressage star Lucinda Fredericks is returning to compete at Badminton after a four-year absence – and will be thinking of her good friend and fellow rider Jane Gregory, who died on April 1 after suffering a heart attack.
Mrs Fredericks, who rides for Australia, had been having lessons with Jane Gregory, one of the UK’s top dressage riders and trainers, in preparation for Badminton.
