Two years of fund-raising efforts by the Redwings Horse Sanctuary has culminated in the rescue charity taking delivery of a new £50,000 specialist horse ambulance.

It will be used across the country wherever the charity needs to transport horses, donkeys, ponies and mules in need of help.

Adam Joslin, welfare and transport manager at Redwings said: “We are so pleased and very grateful to everyone who contributed to help us raise the funds we needed.”

Redwings has eight centres around the country – currently caring for more than 1,100 animals – and they are funded solely by donations.
