100% pure cold-pressed oil from hemp seeds grown and harvested in Devon.

Pegasus Hemp Oil is a 100% natural supplement for horses that is extremely nutritious and a rich source of essential omega-3, -6 and -9 fatty acids. It’s a pure cold-pressed oil made from seeds grown and harvested in Devon.

The hemp plant is grown for fibre as well as the highly nutritious seeds, and it is one of the fastest growing plants on the planet. Hemp has been grown for thousands of years all over the world, for use in textiles, medication and foods. The plant uses four times more CO2 than trees, so it acts as an excellent ‘mop’ for CO2.

Pegasus Hemp Oil is made from seeds grown without pesticides or herbicides, and it is mechanically extracted rather being treated with solvents, bleaches or deodorizers. The whole plant is used – the seeds for healthy oil and the protein and fibre-rich residue for foods, and the stalks for eco-building. Hemp is healthy for the soil, and the seeds used in Pegasus Hemp Oil are grown in wildlife-friendly fields.

As well as healthful polyunsaturated fatty acids, Pegasus Hemp Oil contains antioxidant compounds including vitamin E. The oil has a natural 3:1 balance of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids, making it superior to most comparable seed oils. It is a good source of gamma linolenic acid, which in the past has been supplied by evening primrose oil.

Pegasus Hemp Oil has a light, nutty taste but should be introduced and increased gradually, like any vegetable oil. It is excellent for a shiny bloom to the coat, to support strong hooves, good immunity and a healthy cardiovascular system. When fed in larger quantities is provides an excellent source of calories to promote condition.

Lower amount adequate for general maintenance, higher amount recommended for breeding stallions, pregnant or lactating mares, youngstock and very hard-working horses.

5 litres fed at 100 ml per day will last 50 days.

Where a diet requires high energy but low starch, we recommend 300-400ml of oil per day. However, as with starting all oils, do increase the amount gradually.

My pony had grade 1 & 2 ulcers and was treated with ulcer gold for 8 weeks. We then used, as recommended by vets, corn oil as a management supplement but it only made him worse. We then found hemp oil and he is a completely different pony. He is super happy and gives him an energy boost. Highly recommend, amazing service & products.

I actually don't own a horse, I read this was good for IBS and boy does it work. Careful how much you use though as it takes some getting used too. My IBS has never been better, I used to buy via Amazon but will be ordering direct in future as Amazon have really let me down lately. Enjoy!
